Staying Silent.
By Linda Corby
Staying silent when a wrong is done
Only gives power to the wrong doer,
You become a third party to any wrong committed
When you stand by and knowingly say or do nothing.
It is a sad world where people are afraid to speak,
When silence is so loud that all will hear,
Yet not let out a peep afraid of any repercussions,
The meaning of the lack of voices loud and clear!
Fear is a funny thing and giving in to it is wrong
I call those who do cowards’ of the worst kind,
When just by opening their mouths,
They could put a wrong to rights.
There comes a time when all have to stand tall,
When we have to throw off the shackles of fear,
Fight the evil goings on around us,
Play our part in making this a better world!
